Girls’ Generation‘s Seohyun will be performing, along with Red Velvet and other popular Korean artists, at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre in North Korea. She has also been chosen to host the event, as she is “likable” to both South and North Korean audiences.
Seohyun appeared on Entertainment Night and shared her thoughts on the upcoming concert in an interview. “It’s such an honor to be a part of the performance. I’m excited to be performing with such great artists.”
It has been reported Seohyun will be singing a North Korean song, called “Blue Willow Tree”.
Seohyun explained she feels even more responsible to do well, since she will be hosting the show as well.
This isn’t Seohyun first experience performing around North Koreans. In Feburary 2018, Seohyun performed with the Samjiyeon Band, a North Korean classical ensemble, when they visited South Korea in celebration of the Olympic games.
Seohyun put on a fantastic show by beautifully performing the popular songs “Let’s Meet Again” and “Our Wish”, both of which will be performed again in North Korea.
The South Korean artists’ performances will be on April 1, 2018 at 5PM KST for two hours.
