Hongjoong And Yunho Spill On The Unexpected Challenge ATEEZ Faces While Performing “Guerrilla,” Which Shows Their True Professionalism

“When we do the dance break…”

ATEEZ performed at KCON LA 2023 in August and stunned the massive crowd of K-Pop fans gathered for the annual event as they took the stage and performed some of their biggest hits, including “BOUNCY (K-HOT CHILLI PEPPERS),” “Wonderland,” and “Guerrilla.”

Their appearance at the annual convention came amid the group’s busy schedule as they traveled the world on their THE FELLOWSHIP: BREAK THE WALL tour.

While in Los Angeles, the talented group made time to chat with KIIS FM radio personality JoJo Wright in an interview all about their latest EP, stories from their tour, and hints at what is next for the global group.

During the interview, JoJo asked the members what it was like to perform in front of their dedicated fans, noting how loud fans cheers are during concerts.

Hongjoong replied by referencing part of ATEEZ’s tour script, which questions the line between dreams and reality, and revealed that it truly feels like a surreal experience when they receive so much love and support from ATINYs (ATEEZ’s fans).

He gratefully shared how “crazy” it is to witness 10,000+ fans dancing, screaming, and singing along to the Korean lyrics while looking “so happy,” and said it was a “dream” to the ATEEZ members.

JoJo asked the group if there was ever a time that fans screamed so loud they couldn’t hear each other on stage, and Yunho hilariously confirmed it was a common occurrence.

He referenced a specific moment during ATEEZ’s “Guerrilla” performance, which he revealed was his favorite part.

Toward the end of the song, the crowd chants, “break the wall,” during a dance break, and Hongjoong revealed that the fan chant is often so loud, that they can’t hear the beat of the song and have to rely on keeping the beat in their head instead.

Despite the setback, the group is known for their showmanship and incredible live performances that would make it impossible to tell they aren’t able to hear the music.
