“We Got Married” Star Reveals The Decade-Old Secret He Kept From His “Wife”

In 2014, actor Hong Jong Hyun and Girl’s Day‘s Yura became an on-screen married couple for episodes 223 to 262 of We Got Married. Recently, the stars officially reunited for the first time in twelve years.

On January 8, Yura’s YouTube channel, yurayurahae, released a new video featuring her “ex-husband” as a surprise guest, and the reunited stars reminisced about their on-screen marriage.

They also shared some behind-the-scenes memories that weren’t public knowledge at the time.

During the car ride to their first destination, Jong Hyun revealed a secret he had kept from Yura during one of their dates, and for many years since.

He had been ill with the norovirus, a virus that causes gastrointestinal symptoms, during their mall date. This was news to Yura, who hadn’t known why her “husband” kept disappearing throughout the shoot.

“Remember when we went to the mall together?” he said. “I could’ve told you I was going to the bathroom, but back then, I was kind of embarrassed about it. So I didn’t say anything, and I kept disappearing mid-shoot.”
