MBC Blatantly Disrespects T.O.P In Latest Broadcast of “Radio Star”
BIGBANG’s T.O.P became the subject of censorship ever since he got accused of marijuana last year.
While other broadcasting agencies opt to just simply blur his face on programs, MBC angered fans and viewers by replacing T.O.P with a completely different image instead.
The incident happened on the program “Radio Star” where fellow BIGBANG member Seungri was guest. He was joined by some members of Wanna One and started comparing them to BIGBANG.
“Kang Daniel is in a position similar to G-Dragon. Ong is more like T.O.P because of their visuals and charisma while Park Woojin is Daesung.” – Seungri
As he was comparing the members, however, photos of them appear on screen. What upset viewers was that they showed T.O.P with a photo of a tower every time he’s mentioned instead.
It’s worth mentioning that “tower” in Korean is pronounced as T.O.P.
The move was to censor his face after being involved in marijuana use and has been sentenced to ten months in prison and two years probation. At present, he continues his military enlistment as a social worker and is not due to be discharged until June 2019.
