Netizens Praise AKMU’s Lee Chanhyuk For His Treatment Of Former TREASURE’s Bang Yedam
Following an announcement of a temporary hiatus in May 2022, YG Entertainment shocked fans when they revealed in November 2022 that they had mutually agreed to conclude the contracts of TREASURE‘s Bang Yedam and Mashiho.
In the initial statement, the company cited Bang Yedam’s desire to pursue a career as a producer as one of the reasons for their amicable parting. After almost a year, fans celebrated Bang Yedam’s return to Instagram and later entertainment after he announced he had signed with a new label, GF Entertainment.
Bang Yedam recently made his official debut as a solo artist, releasing his track “Miss You” on November 10, with his Only One mini-album coming on November 23.
To celebrate the occasion, he reunited with AKMU’s Chanhyuk and Suhyun, who were fellow competitors on the reality program K-Pop Star 2 with Bang Yedam in 2012-2013.
Bang Yedam appeared on AKMU’s show The Seasons, and while catching up, the soloist revealed how his former labelmate and close friend took care of him while he transitioned into his solo career.
AKMU’s Chanhyuk, known for his playfulness, asked Bang Yedam to tell the audience about everything he had done for him.
Bang Yedam began by revealing that Chanhyuk had called him “3 or 4 times a week” to check on him and invite him to meet up.
Chanhyuk hilariously clarified that he meant another story, and Bang Yedam then revealed more heartwarming ways Chanhyuk had taken care of him.
Bang Yedam shared that when he earned his first vacation, Chanhyuk felt bad that he couldn’t do anything special with him during his time off, so he called and unexpectedly asked Bang Yedam to join him in Jeju the next day.
Chanhyuk offered to cover all of the trip’s expenses and told Bang Yedam to only bring himself. Bang Yedam added that Chanhyuk had also given him pocket money before the AKMU member enlisted in the military in 2017.

Fans are grateful for AKMU’s continued support for Bang Yedam and for how Chanhyuk has taken care of the younger singer.
