Netizens say NCT is under-appreciated by the public
Netizens assert that that NCT‘s early and large success is no doubt an incredible feat but they are under-appreciated by the general public.
Just one year ago, SM Entertainment announced its formation of the project artist development system Neo Culture Technology.
Two months later, NCT’s first subunit NCT U debuted in April with “7th Sense” and “Without You.”
NCT 127 and NCT Dream debuted soon after with other singles and new members, and NCT Dream even recently won 1st place in SBS‘s The Show with their single “My First and Last.”
Less than a year since debut, NCT has already released three non-album digital singles, one single album, and two mini-albums. During the presentation of the new artist system given by Lee Soo Man, he mentioned that NCT would have subunit teams comprising of different members from countries around the world, and collaborations among those teams.
The CEO elaborated on the keyword, “unlimited,” to state that each team will have light regulations on accepting and dismissing members if necessary.
NCT has released a total of 9 music videos since their debut from the different subunits.
They have won 10 awards from awards shows such as Rookie of the Year and Best New Artist, and NCT Dream’s “My First and Last” has won 2 music program awards.
Members of the group have already participated in three OSTs for Korean dramas.
The members of NCT are extremely active in the variety world as well. Doyoung is currently a regular MC on SBS‘ Inkigayo, and Johnny recently became the host for Lipstick Prince.
The members have all appeared on many variety shows pre-debut and even after their debut such as Mickey Mouse Club, Hit the Stage, Weekly Idol, NCT Life and more.
There are still several members of SM Rookies that have yet debut in an NCT subunit, and fans are looking forward to their appearance in the entertainment industry very soon.
The current lineup for NCT U includes Taeil, Taeyong, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, and Mark.
NCT 127 includes Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark, and Haechan. NCT Dream includes Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung.
The NCT subunits often hold live stream videos and hold fan meetings to interact with their fans. Their great success and high album chart positions shocked netizens. Fans are expecting Chinese and Japanese subunits of the group in the coming year.
