NewJeans’ Hanni Picks Her Bias In One Direction Certifying Her Fangirl Status
It’s not uncommon for idols who debut nowadays to be born after the year 2000, even though that might make old-school K-Pop fans feel ancient. For example, Minji and Hanni, the oldest members of NewJeans, were both born in 2004!
These young singers grew up being inspired by a completely different group of boy bands from the generations before them, like Hanni, who was a massive fan of One Direction! An old photo of Hanni was found by fans showing how dedicated a Directioner she was since it displayed her at a concert holding a sign that said, “WE LOVE ONE DIRECTION.”

Hanni certified her Directioner status in a fan call event when she was asked if she had a bias in the world-famous boy group. Hanni had a ready answer. “My bias in One Direction? To be honest, nearly everyone was Harry, but I really liked Niall,” she said.

Their conversation shows that not only was Hanni surrounded by other One Direction fans growing up, but she put a lot of thought into who was her favorite member!
To this day, Hanni can’t contain herself when she hears a One Direction song, giggling and smiling at the introduction of the group’s single, “What Makes You Beautiful.”

Since NewJeans has become an international sensation, hopefully, one day, Hanni will meet her favorite boy group!
