“ONE PIECE” Zoro Actor Mackenyu Is Your Daddy, But Who Is His Wife?
Three years after Season 1, ONE PIECE‘s motley crew of treasure hunters is back for more adventures in Season 2.
On March 10, Netflix dropped all eight episodes of ONE PIECE: Into the Grand Line, a live-action adaptation of the massively popular anime series. Actor Mackenyu (also known as Mackenyu Arata) returned as Roronoa Zoro, a master swordsman who isn’t to be trifled with. For this season, Mackenyu underwent a dramatic body transformation that has fans falling for him even harder (if that’s possible).
Naturally, some viewers are curious about the cast’s personal lives, including who the ONE PIECE stars are dating. Sadly, any lovestruck singles who were hoping to shoot their shot with Mackenyu are fresh out of luck. The 29-year-old star is married to a non-celebrity woman. She is reportedly a former actress who is seven years his senior.
During an appearance on the Japanese talk show A-Studio+ in 2023, Mackenyu gushed about his wife to the host. He said, “I definitely won the lottery in life. I’ve never met anyone as beautiful and as cute as her in my life. I say that every day. The first time I met her, I knew I immediately wanted to marry her.”
His marriage and his younger brother Gordon Maeda‘s marriage were announced on the same day, January 22, 2023, which is the birthday of their late father, actor and martial artist Sonny Chiba. In June of 2023, Mackenyu and his then-pregnant wife were photographed together by Japanese media outlets.
Mackenyu’s wife reportedly gave birth to their first child in Honolulu, Hawaii, in late July 2023.
