Mina first debuted in 2012 as a member of the girl group AOA. She played a key role in the group’s success as a vocalist and lead dancer, contributing to hit songs like “Miniskirt,” “Like a Cat,” and “Heart Attack.” AOA quickly became one of the most popular second-generation girl groups, gaining a strong fanbase in Korea and internationally.
However, after leaving the group in 2019, Kwon Mina faced personal struggles that kept her in the public eye. In 2020, she made headlines after accusing former AOA leader Jimin of years of verbal and physical abuse, claiming that other members did not intervene. The controversy led to Jimin’s departure from the entertainment industry, while Kwon Mina also chose to take a step back from the spotlight.
