Born in 1988, the 37-year-old businessman has been dubbed the “chaebol of the beauty world.” He took APR public last year and, within just 17 months, boosted the company to the No.1 beauty brand in Korea by market capitalization — ₩8 KRW (about $0.01 USD).

Kim’s business empire includes popular brands such as MediCube, AprilSkin, Nerdy, and Photogray. Under his leadership, APR’s stock price skyrocketed from around ₩50,000 KRW (about $36.00 USD) at the time of listing to about ₩220,000 KRW (about $158 USD) as of August 29.

Currently, Kim personally owns more than 11.9 million shares (31.35%) of APR, valued at approximately ₩2 KRW (about $0.00 USD) Beyond numbers, Kim has also captured public attention by enlisting Kim Hee Sun, IVE’s Jang Wonyoung, and Yoo Jae Suk as brand models. He has even gone viral for his resemblance to actor Song Joong Ki in photos with top celebrities.
