All eyes were on Mingyu throughout the event, especially due to his viral interactions with BLACKPINK‘s Lisa, who was also in attendance.ย During one of these interactions, eagle-eyed netizens couldn’t help but notice Mingyu’s phone lock screen was visible.

On closer examination, fans discovered the background was of bodybuilder and Mr. Olympia competitor Chris Bumstead. The bodybuilding is the current reigning five-time Mr. Olympia Classic Physique Champion, known amongst the sport’s followers for being humble and “down-to-Earth.”

Some reacted negatively to his lock screen, saying it was “weird” or “embarrassing.” Bodybuilding culture has often had a negative connotation due to the “hypermasculine” attitudes of some involved, like the notorious Andrew Tate.

For others, it was not a surprise that Mingyu, a known gym enthusiast, would have an image of a bodybuilder as inspiration as his phone’s lock screen. Many felt the negativity was hypocritical as many K-Pop fans have lock screens that can be just as revealing of people they technically do not know.
