The member decided the Performance Team should take it instead.

SEVENTEEN’s Performance Team never fails to showcase its talents through its unit songs. They did so with “Wave”, which was initially a solo song for a specific member.

During his Weverse Magazine interview, The8 revealed who the song was initially for and how it became the unit song it is today.

At the mention of “Wave”, The8 took credit for shaping the group’s look. He said, “I’m the one who came up with the style for ‘Wave’, the Performance Team’s song.

In fact, he admitted the song originally belonged to him. The8 didn’t keep the song because he had a better plan for it. He told the Performance Team they should take it on together.

My original plan was to do it as a solo song, but then I got together with the performance team and talked it over and figured it would be better if we all did it together.

Hoshi, Dino, and Jun were swayed by his words. The8 finished, “And they thought so, too. I’m glad I could contribute a lot to the song.

When The8 said, “I tend to think more about how the team will look than what I should do,” he definitely proved it by giving away his solo song to make the Performance Team shine together.
