SHINee’s Minho Confesses If He Regrets Becoming A K-Pop Idol As A Minor

He thought about how his life could have turned out differently if he had not been a celebrity.

SHINee‘s Minho sat down for an interview on the 영국남자 Korean Englishman YouTube channel with hosts Josh Carrott and Ollie Kendal to talk about his career and promote his new album titled Chase while eating delicious Korean food.

The trio had a blast talking about Minho’s works as an actor and singer. They explored topics like how male South Korean celebrities feel about their mandatory military enlistment and how Minho became a K-Pop idol in the first place.

Ollie was shocked after learning Minho was scouted by SM Entertainment when he was only thirteen years old since most people were worrying about their homework and going through puberty at that age rather than making their debut as a singer.

He asked Minho, “Do you ever feel like you missed out on childhood? You were working from such a young age.

I used to think about how different my life would have been had I not become a celebrity, but now I know that if you keep thinking about the bad things, you can fall into a spiral. So I try to reflect on the positives in my life,” Minho explained.

The singer went on to say that, although it’s possible following another path could have been better for him, he believes that his current life is the best possible one he could have.

After showing conviction for his choices, the hosts complimented Minho on his positive attitude and forward-thinking. Watch the full episode of SHINee’s Minho on the 영국남자 Korean Englishman YouTube channel below. They talk about Minho becoming an idol trainee as a minor at the 8:07 mark.
