SM Entertainment’s Releasing Their Own HomePod, Replacing Siri With Wendy

You will be able to have an interactive mini-Wendy in your house!

Google Home, Siri, and Amazon Echo have been greeted with lots of success, but there may be a newer AI assistant that could replace them all. Enter SK Telecom and S.M. Entertainment’s “Holobox” featuring Red Velvet’s Wendy.

This new piece of tech will feature a holographic display of Wendy and allows users of the gadget to be able to interact with her. You will be able to do things like ask her questions, have her do simple tasks like turn on the lights, or just have a simple chat with her.

And Wendy will seem pretty real too! The two companies have made it so that hologram Wendy moves naturally and makes over 100 facial expressions, so that your experience is like interacting with the real deal. If this version of the Holobox is successful, S.M. Entertainment will be looking at adding more idols to the mix (including idols from Girls’ Generation and EXO)!

The Holobox will be featured (and demonstrated) at the Mobile Word Congress (MWC) in Barcelona on February 26. The only question left is when will we be able to buy it?
