She appeared in numerous K-Dramas in 2024, including The Story Of The Mystics, also known as Fangs of Fortune. In a clip that has since gone viral on social media, the drama’s director, Guo Jing Ming, can be seen yelling at the idol. According to a netizen’s report, he was angry that the former idol had disappeared to fix her costume and even told her to “go back to being an idol.

The user who posted the clip shared their explanation of the incident, explaining that the screaming wasn’t done out of malicious intent.

Cheng Xiao went back to the car after changing, but perhaps she was a little bit slow, so Director Guo criticized Cheng Xiao. Director Guo cares a lot about time~ He criticized Cheng Xiao and her assistant. Director Guo criticized Cheng Xiao’s assistant by saying, “Is she the director or am I the director~ Who are you listening to~” Then Director Guo said to Cheng Xiao, “Wen Xiao [character played by Chen Du Ling] had a scene where she was in the water for the whole day in Xiangshan, without changing clothes~ If you can’t take this little bit of suffering, then go back to being an idol and ride in a Rolls Royce~ Being an actor is tough~” It was like that. Director Guo teaches actors as if they have a teacher-student type of relationship~ It’s all for the actors’ own good. This way, the drama comes out well~
