TXT’s Soobin Explains Why BIGHIT MUSIC Prohibits Its Artists From Taking Photos With Fans

There’s a good reason why they have to decline, even if they want to take the photo.

TXT‘s Soobin recently celebrated his 22nd birthday on December 5 and held a live broadcast so he could celebrate with MOAs too.

During Soobin’s birthday live, he solidified himself as an honorary brother to Hueningkai‘s sisters, Lea Navvab Huening and Kep1er‘s Huening Bahiyyih. Both wished Soobin a happy birthday before Hueningkai did and even knew their brother well enough to guess they were the first to message Soobin.

He even gave fans insight into TXT’s relationship with their superstar sunbaes, BTS, while naming his bias.

He also answered fan questions; one specifically caught his attention and left him grateful that someone brought it up.

A MOA asked Soobin what limitations the group has in relation to signing autographs or taking photos with fans when the group is spotted in public.

TXT began their first world tour this summer, and as they traveled the globe, a few lucky MOAs spotted the group out and about.

Videos of their outings circulated, and in a few of them, the members could be seen looking apologetic as members of their security staff turned down fan requests for photos.

While fans have often assumed the reason is for privacy and respecting boundaries, Soobin revealed a darker reason while expressing his regret that they’re unable to take photos.

Soobin began his answer by saying he had always wanted to talk about the topic and shared that even he didn’t initially understand why the company prohibited them from taking photos.

He shared that one of the main concerns surrounding not taking a photo with fans is that someone could pose as a “fan” but have malicious intentions. He provided the example that someone could be friendly when meeting him but go home and claim he’s “mean” online, and people would be more likely to believe the accuser due to the photo proof that they met.

Soobin apologized to fans for not being able to fulfill their wish by taking a photo but clarified that although he regretted not being able to take photos with fans, the group was more than happy to sign autographs.
