Here’s How TXT’s Taehyun Feels When His Lyrics Get Rejected By The Company

He took a humble approach to handle it.

All the TXT members often participate in writing lyrics for their albums. That doesn’t necessarily mean everything they write makes it into the final song. Taehyun shared how it feels when the company rejects his lyrics and how his mindset about it has changed.

For the song “Thursday’s Child Has Far To Go”, Taehyun remembered the company praising the chorus and verse he originally wrote for it. In the end, they rejected them and only used the pre-chorus melody. When Weverse Magazine asked him if he ever felt “a little let down when that happens,” Taehyun had a different mindset.

Taehyun admitted to them his past self would’ve been. He said, “I used to get really sad if my lyrics or melodies didn’t make it in.” Now, he reacts differently.

Instead of focusing on the negative, Taehyun looks toward the future. He gave a humble response that gave credit where it was due.

Now I know there will be plenty of opportunities in the future, and I think I now know how to believe in myself while still acknowledging that the parts that were selected were selected because someone else did a better job.

Taehyun was more focused on becoming the best lyricist he could be. He finished, “They actually used more of my stuff this time than I expected, so I realized I can just keep doing what I’ve been doing all along. Now I’m fine just as long as I improve a little bit each time.

Having lyrics you’ve worked so hard to write be rejected would hurt anyone’s pride. At least Taehyun can see the bright side and keep improving himself.
