Since GFRIEND’s debut, American rapper and singer Lil Uzi Vert has been a huge fan of the group and even named GFRIEND as their favorite K-Pop group during an Instagram live in 2019.

Lil Uzi Vert shared their disappointment at the group’s unexpected disbandment in 2021, taking to Twitter to express their frustration with the sad news.

After being a fan since GFRIEND’s debut, Lil Uzi Vert was finally able to meet three of the former members, Eunha, Umji, and SinB, who formed their own successful group, VIVIZ, in 2022.

The three members were there to support Lil Uzi Vert when they performed at the One Universe Festival 2023 in Seoul on October 9, 2023.

VIVIZ recently made their comeback with their fourth mini-album VERSUS and appeared on the variety program Curator to answer questions about their new music, their time promoting with GFRIEND, and more.

During the episode, Curator host HoonD was curious about their meeting with the American artist.

The members revealed they were invited to watch Lil Uzi Vert’s performance at the One Universe Festival 2023 and found them “very cute.

HoonD asked if it was true they were in contact via DMs, and Umji clarified she had contacted Lil Uzi Vert personally after they met, sweetly seeking permission to post a dance challenge video they had filmed together at the festival.
