Here Are All The Korean Stars Who Attended The 2022 Met Gala

They all understood the assignment!

On Monday, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute hosted its annual Met Gala (also known as Met Ball). The stars were out that night under the theme of In America: An Anthology of Fashion, focusing on gilded glamour.

The stories really reflect the evolution of American style, but they also explore the work of individual tailors, dress-makers, and designers. …We’ve been exploring untold stories and focusing on designers who have been almost written out of fashion history because they weren’t commercially successful or they had a short career span, but at the time had a big impact on American fashion.

— Andrew Bolton, Met Gala Curator and Coordinator

So not only was the theme focused on American history, but it’s also the start of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. So, we would like to showcase the Korean stars that attended The 2022 Met Gala. Here they are…

1. NCT’s Johnny

NCTzens were excited about the K-Pop idol making his Met Gala debut, especially since he practically manifested it years ago.

Johnny wore a look by FIT alum and LVMH Graduates Prize winner, Peter Do. He dressed in an ultra-long satin black tailcoat with silver detailing and a matching suit and combat boots. Yet, he technically went “shirtless” for that signature Johnny look.

2. Chloe Kim

Korean-American Olympic Gold Medalist Chloe Kim looked absolutely stunning!

The athlete wore a Giambattista Valli Couture ball gown featuring red feathers, looking like true royalty.

3. Jung Ho Yeon

Korean model and Squid Game actress Jung Ho Yeon slays wherever she goes!

At the 2022 Met Gala, she wore a squad cut-out mini dress from Louis Vuitton‘s Cruise 2017 collection. Vogue reported that oil paintings of the late 1800s inspired the look.

4. Ashley Park

Korean-American actress, best known for Emily in Paris, understood the assignment.

She wore a hot-pink corset and ostrich-feather skirt by Prabal Gurung with Audrey Hepburn-inspired jewelry.

5. Awkwafina

Chinese-Korean-American actress and rapper Awkwafina attended The 2022 Met Gala.

She wore a custom gown by Gucci.

6. Anderson .Paak

Korean-American singer-songwriter and 1/2 of Silk Sonic Anderson .Paak turned heads at The 2022 Met Gala!

According to Gucci, Anderson .Paak “wore custom Gucci floral jacquard jacket with all-over sequins, dress shirt, leather flared pants, tie, and boots. The fundraising benefit celebrates the opening of the exhibit ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion.’” Of course, you can’t forget his iconic wig too!
