In Soobin’s interview, he opened up about a promise he made to an adult figure who helped him complete his pre-debut training and may have answered a question fans’ were asking in September 2022.

Soobin shared that his high school was surprisingly strict, which presented a challenge when he had to leave classes early for his schedules with TXT. Thankfully, Soobin’s kind homeroom teacher helped TXT’s leader leave the school early if needed and asked the other teachers to cut Soobin some slack.

My high school was strict so it was hard to leave early, but my home room teacher was really considerate and helped me out a lot with homework and cleaning. He also told the other teachers, “Go easy on Soobin,” a lot.

As a way to repay his homeroom teacher’s kindness, Soobin made a promise to him.

I was so thankful that I told him, ‘If I debut and things turn out well, I’ll come back and make you proud. So you can brag to the kids in your class, too.’

Things turned out very well for TXT as they continue to grow nationally and globally while setting and breaking records with their music.

Soobin revealed that he’d been able to keep his promise to his former homeroom teacher and has visited his former high school every year, even when his schedule was busy.

TXT embarked on their long-awaited first world tour last year with concert dates in July, September, and October.

Despite the group’s packed schedule in 2022, Soobin made sure to revisit his former school and surprised students with an unexpected visit in September, proving that Soobin is a man of his word.

Soobin shared that the annual tradition of visiting with his homeroom teacher may soon end as the teacher announced he’s retiring this year, making his latest visit even more meaningful.

So I go visit every year, but this year he said he’s retiring. I really wanted to go back there as a superstar but it hasn’t quite happened yet (laughs) but he said this would be the last chance so I went and said hi to his students, too.

In addition to his former homeroom teacher, Soobin gave another shout-out to his dentist, who also helped him out during his trainee days.

I was busy when I was a trainee, so my dentist would show up to work an hour before opening to give me treatment early. I wanted to repay the people who have worked hard for my benefit.

Soobin’s determination to return the kindness shown to him proves his selfless personality and adds to his incredible charm.
