Former Trainee A Members’ New Career Move Draws Mixed Reactions
Two former members of Trainee A, a popular pre-debut boy group from BIGHIT MUSIC, have reportedly joined the same label.
Trainee A was a pre-debut group formed in 2021 that gained massive popularity among netizens. Each one in the seven-member lineup had already amassed considerable support from the public, winning them over with their visuals and talents.
Sadly, the team was disbanded at the end of 2022, and the members scattered across different labels. Two of these members have now joined the same label, teasing anticipation for their future activities.
The two trainees in question are Leo and Sangwon, who have joined GRID Entertainment. The agency announced the news in an official post.

Interestingly, GRID Entertainment is also home to the boy group POW, of which former Trainee A member Yorch is a member.

This career move by the two members has created some uncertainty among netizens about their future activities. A few days ago, speculations spread all over the internet that both Sangwon and Leo might join Mnet‘s debut survival show, BOYS II PLANET, which is slated to air this summer.

But some netizens are skeptical of their appearance on the Mnet show, given that GRID Entertainment has officially announced signing both members with a formal profile shoot, which is not the norm for simple trainees. Nevertheless, the anticipation around their next step in the industry is high.

- “Sangwon was probably testing the waters, and now he’s about to appear on Boys Planet.”
- “Sangwon is all grown up.”
- “Is Leo the one who was the main member but then withdrew?”

- “It looks like they won’t be appearing on Boys Planet.”
- “They probably uploaded the profile shots because they won’t be appearing on Boys Planet. Isn’t it?”
- “Whoa, Sangwon.”
