Divorced Actress Gets Real About Her Actor Ex-Husband Getting Re-Married
Back in 2014, actress Chae Rim married Chinese actor Gao Ziqi after co-starring in the C-Drama The Li Family with him. While in 2017 the couple welcomed a son, the marriage came to an end in 2020.

As this was her second marriage that didn’t last, Chae Rim had a few things to share about the possibility of remarriage for both herself and her ex-husband. In a video shared on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, the actress was asked how she felt about getting married again. She responded, surprised, “With someone other than the father of my child?”
I’ve never thought about it. But if a couple doesn’t get along or isn’t headed in the same direction, it gets tough. So, maybe when my child grows up… I might consider it.

Chae Rim then showed an open and mature mindset regarding the possibility of her ex-husband getting married again. When asked how she’d feel if he remarried, she simply noted, “I honestly don’t care at all.” The actress added that she has already had “the talk” with her son about relationships.
As long as it doesn’t affect our child, I’m totally fine with it. In fact, I wouldn’t even mind if he brings his girlfriend when he comes to visit our son.
I’ve told my son that Dad might have a girlfriend someday, and Mom might have a boyfriend too. That’s completely normal.

Before Gao Ziqi, Chae Rim was briefly married to singer Lee Seung Hwan in 2003. Although the two held a wedding ceremony, they never registered their marriage—meaning they were not considered a married couple under the law, and therefore, there was no actual divorce. After the two parted ways in 2006, Chae Rim went on to pursue activities in China where she met Gao Ziqi.
