Korean Doctor Goes Mega-Viral For His Uncanny Resemblance To A Beloved K-Drama Character
In tvN‘s 2020 K-Drama Hospital Playlist, actor Jo Jung Suk played Dr. Lee Ik Jun, a character loved by viewers for the hilarious flair he brings to the series. Fast forward to 2025, one Korean doctor is taking over the internet for being “Lee Ik Jun in real life!”
Earlier this month, a video titled “A Day in the Life of a University Hospital NICU Professor” was uploaded to Wonju Severance Christian Hospital’s official YouTube channel. The video followed Dr. Yoo Young Myung around on his work day, capturing the hectic but rewarding routine at the neonatal intensive care center.
While the video initially did not garner much attention, it has since gone viral across online communities after Dr. Yoo Young Myung’s uncanny resemblance to Hospital Playlist‘s Dr. Lee Ik Jun was pointed out.
From the way he looks to the way he speaks, as well as his warm-hearted personality—and the fact that he actually commutes to the hospital on his bike, Dr. Yoo has sparked a strong reaction from Hospital Playlist fans:
- “I saw this while scrolling Reels and really thought Jo Jung Suk had filmed something new.”
- “He looks SO MUCH like Jo Jung Suk.”
