Netflix Series Actor And Alleged Girlfriend Arrested After Being Caught With Marijuana
On September 3, it was reported that Japanese actor Shimizu Hiroya was arrested for allegedly possessing marijuana.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the 26-year-old was accused of possessing plant material containing marijuana in his home after a tip sparked suspicions. On September 3, police searched his home and seized what is believed to be marijuana, rolling papers, and other smoking paraphernalia.
A woman, believed to be his live-in girlfriend, was also arrested on the same allegations.

According to reports, Shimuzu told police that “there was no doubt” that he had marijuana, while the woman also allegedly admitted guilt.
Japan has some of the worst penalties for crimes relating to cannabis use, which include up to a five-year sentence for possession.

Shimizu made his acting debut in 2012 and is known for appearing in the Tokyo Revengers film series. He also appeared in Netflix’s live-action version of Yu Yu Hakusho and is currently appearing in The 19th Medical Chart.

Police have begun analyzing items from his home and are under the impression that he is a habitual user.
