3rd Gen Idol Features Lesbian Relationship In Self-Composed Song
While progress continues to be made, being a sexual minority in Korea is still not accepted by all and sometimes met with backlash. Despite this, artists continue to be their authentic selves, be it directly speaking about their sexuality or refusing to have their art censored.
Idol’s Group Mates Reveal Their True Feelings About His Coming Out As Gay
A third-generation idol’s recent release preview has gained attention for the relationship depicted.
In 2016, the debut process for an upcoming girl group under BlockBerry Creative was started. Over 18 months, the members of LOONA had various pre-debut activities culminating in their 2018 debut.

In 2022, nine members of LOONA attempted to have their exclusive contracts suspended following Chuu’s expulsion from the group. A lengthy legal battle followed, with members being granted contract suspensions over time.
Several members have since re-debuted, both as soloists and in new groups, including Yves, who took on a different look from her visuals while in LOONA.

Recently, Yves released her latest single, “Ex Machina,” which she has writing and composing credits on. The video features Yves starring in the video alongside Kwon Ipsae(also known Yoon Seohyung) an actress and singer who competed in the first season of Produce 101.
The two women in the video are in a relationship, shown in several scenes including the two women drawing hearts on each others cheeks.
The lyrics also reflect a relationship, with Yves’s lyrics being about yearning and longing.
I can’t get you out of my head,
I’m wide awake, so alive.
In my distant, hazy mind,
You’re the one and only in my life — just for you.
Time’s gone off its track,
You fade like a dream, yeah.
When I drift away, I start seeing things —
Do you see them too?Yves, “Ex Machina”
Fans have seen the video in this manner, praising Yves’s artistry and the message delivered.
