As per the Changwon District Prosecutors’ Office on October 21, KST, the singer, “A,” who was active locally in Jinju, was indicted and detained on charges of killing and abandoning her daughter. The investigation revealed that on September 22, the singer assaulted her teenage daughter, “B,” at a residence in Namhae County, and then poured hot water on her, causing severe burns. She then left her in a vehicle for more than two days while “B” complained of pain. She ultimately died.

“A” took her daughter to the hospital after her death, where medical staff discovered bruises all over her body, which appeared to be caused by being hit with a blunt object. They immediately reported it to the police. “A” testified that she found her daughter unconscious after coming home and brought her straight to the hospital. However, circumstantial evidence and the victim’s condition raised suspicion about her truthfulness.

“A” is reportedly a popular singer and announcer predominantly active in the Jinju area. She also operates a YouTube channel and serves as a promotional ambassador associated with various organizations. The day before this incident, she supposedly participated in a fire drill event hosted by the Namhae Fire Station with her daughter.

The crime is still under investigation as the police are trying to figure out the exact circumstances and the extent of the assault. They are also looking into additional signs of abuse.
