“Marriage Hell” — Korean Singer Almost Died Because Of Her Manager-Husband

A Korean singer shocks viewers by sharing a harrowing experience caused by her husband, who works as her road manager.

On the MBC entertainment show Marriage Hell, the story of the “singer wife and manager-husband” will unfold. An Bok Hee, an eighth-year singer who travels nationwide for events, relies on her husband to manage her schedule and transport. Given the long distances, she needs to travel as comfortably as possible before going onstage. However, she cannot hide her anxiety the moment her husband takes the wheel.

An Bok Hee reveals, “Due to my husband’s reckless driving, traffic fines have piled up to the point that we even received a seizure notice, and there have been multiple near-miss serious accidents.” Once entering the highway, her husband speeds up as if embodying the protagonist of the movie F1. Despite his wife’s protests, he runs red lights, causing the production crew tailing them to lose track.

An Bok Hee confesses, “My husband becomes aggressive whenever he drives. I’m so stressed that I can’t perform well at events.” She also exposes that he once reversed on the highway and has driven drowsily for long periods. After shocking the studio with his driving history, her husband confidently laughs and claims, “My driving score is 100 points,” stirring up the atmosphere.
In response, Dr. Oh Eun Young firmly states, “Surviving to sit here right now is sheer luck.” She adds, “This is not a joke, your husband should turn in his driver’s license.” Yet, she also hints, “There’s a real reason behind your husband’s shocking driving,” piquing viewers’ curiosity.

Marriage Hell is a talk documentary in which Dr. Oh Eun Young, known as the country’s top parenting expert, observes couples’ daily lives and shares their concerns. The show, popular among couples experiencing similar issues, has topped ratings with a 7.1% peak viewership. It airs every Monday at 9pm on MBC.
