Controversial Figure Hwang Hana Reportedly Names Several Celebrities Involved With Drug Use
Hwang Hana, granddaughter of Namyang Dairy Products‘ founder, was indicted while in custody on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act. It is reported that during the investigation she named several celebrities, which is expected to cause a stir.
Recently, a video titled “Hwang Hana, Seungri, Park Yoochun — Special Exclusive Report by Reporter Oh Hyuk Jin” was uploaded on the YouTube.
In the video, reporter Oh Hyuk Jin appears and reveals his investigations into criminal allegations involving celebrities such as Hwang Hana, Seungri, and Park Yoochun, as well as a criminal network in Cambodia.
Reporter Oh stated, “She claims she came for her child, but that’s not true. According to information confirmed through intelligence agencies and police, the police coordinated her arrival date in advance to facilitate the process of her acknowledging some of the criminal charges.”
Regarding Hwang Hana’s well-publicized padded jacket fashion during her arrest, Oh commented, “She said she had no money every time she traveled abroad, even claiming her parents cut off her credit cards. So how is it that someone who said she had no money came back wearing a padded jacket worth millions of won? That’s crazy.”
Oh added, “While Hwang Hana claims she did not use or distribute drugs after returning to Korea, the police seem to have identified a specific time and place of drug use. They appear to have promptly requested an arrest warrant and sent her case to the prosecution. However, it seems the arrest warrant was issued due to flight risk. The prosecution will likely need to supplement the charges.”
It is especially noted that Hwang Hana reportedly mentioned several celebrities during the investigation. Oh said, “I understand she named several male and female celebrities to investigators. Based on her usual pattern when testifying to authorities, she does not make unsupported claims. Each time she is questioned, she seems to believe that revealing the crimes of others will help reduce her sentence.”
He added, “Since she commits crimes very shrewdly, it’s likely she only gave testimony about people whose evidence is solid.” Consequently, some speculate that Hwang Hana’s statements could trigger a major drug scandal within the entertainment industry.
Hwang Hana was previously sentenced to probation in 2019 for methamphetamine use, along with her former boyfriend Park Yoochun and others, but violated probation and served 1 year and 8 months in prison before release.
However, she was recently indicted and detained again on new drug use charges. On the 20th, the Anyang Branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office reportedly indicted Hwang Hana on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act (psychoactive substances).
She is accused of injecting methamphetamine into two acquaintances—a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s—at an acquaintance’s apartment in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, around July 2023.
