The first season aired in August 2023 and played a significant role in discovering actors Go Youn Jung, Lee Jung Ha, and Kim Do Hoon.

The first season also topped the viewership ratings for Korean original content on Disney+, with the final episode receiving three times the views on its first week, becoming the most-watched local (Korean) series worldwide.

However, production will change as director Park In Je, from season one, will step down, and Kim Sung Hoon will take over.

Also, the role of Kim Bong Seok, played by Lee Jung Ha, who enlists in the Marine Corps on January 26, will be replaced by another actor. Casting is still ongoing, and they plan to begin filming this summer.

However, many netizens agreed they watched the series for the Bong Seok character.

  • “This is so bad…you lose focus if you swap the actor midway.”
  • “What can you do? He’s going to the military.”
  • “No…the reason I watch the series is for Bong Seok…”
  • “Bong Seok is Bong Seok, though…”
  • “I guess they can’t wait for the actors because it’s already too late.”
  • “Lee Jung Ha is the perfect role for Bong Seok…even if you change the actor because his role is small in the next season…it still breaks the focus.”
  • “Can’t do anything about it since it’s the military…”
