Actor Park Bo Gum Prepares For Dream Career Shift, Obtains Relevant Certification
Actor Park Bo Gum has taken a major step toward fulfilling his dream of pursuing a second career.

On the January 30 premiere of tvN‘s variety show The Village Barber, the actor was shown preparing to open a small barbershop in the village of Muju in the North Jeolla Province. He was joined by Lee San Yi and Kwak Dong Yeon on this journey.

During this episode, the actor revealed that he developed a keen eye for hairstyling after observing the many stylists who had worked on his hair all these years. He eventually began to dream of becoming a hair designer and wondered whether he could live a “second life” as someone other than an actor.

Park also revealed that while completing his military service, he had even obtained a national barber’s license! But with The Village Barber, his ambition grew stronger, and he decided to pursue a national cosmetologist license to help elderly residents in rural areas who have limited access to hair salons.

Despite his busy schedule, Park Bo Gum consistently prepared for his exam and later announced that he had passed the written exam. Notably, a national cosmetologist certification is notoriously difficult to obtain, and the exam has an average passing rate of 20-30%.
