KASTEYE member Manon is going on a temporary hiatus from group activities, and fans couldn’t be more apprehensive about her future with the group.

On February 21, KST, the official Weverse account of KATSEYE announced that Manon will be taking a temporary break from group activities to “focus on her health and wellbeing.” The notice didn’t clarify when she would be back except for a vague, “when the time is right.”

Shortly after, Manon also took to Weverse and communicated directly with fans, stating that she was “healthy” and “okay.” She described the situation as “things unfold[ing] in ways [she] couldn’t fully control,” adding that she was still “trusting the bigger picture.”

Given that Manon’s explanation directly contradicted HYBE X Geffen’s statement, fans are now anxious that her label might actually be attempting to push her out of the group. Some unverified screenshots have also been shared online, supposedly showing the label’s intention to terminate its contract with Manon.

Some have speculated that Manon might have “breached” the contract through personal activities, including her vocal support for Palestine, a very public dating life, and her decision to star in a short film.

There are also fears of HYBE and Geffen shelving KATSEYE to replace them with a new global girl group.

The lack of clarity in this situation is triggering more and more speculations online, with fans even mentally preparing themselves for Manon’s possible departure.
