This Spicy Man-On-Man K-Drama “Pavane” Kiss Wasn’t The Writer’s Idea

One of the hottest moments in the flick.

Actor Moon Sang Min candidly shared behind-the-scenes stories about his on-screen kiss scenes.

Recently, he sat down for an interview to discuss the Netflix film Pavane in which he stars. Pavane tells the story of three people who had closed off their hearts but become each other’s light, ultimately confronting life and love. In the film, Moon Sang Min plays Kyung Rok, a young man who has given up his dream of becoming a dancer and is now facing reality.

During the interview, Moon opened up about his kiss scene with Byun Yo Han, which had previously gained attention after being pre-released.

Moon revealed that the kiss was Byun Yo Han’s own idea, rather than the writers’.

“The kiss with Yo Han hyung wasn’t my idea. Hyung suggested it first. In that atmosphere, it was a way to clearly punctuate and conclude the scene. I honestly wondered how we would have done it if it weren’t for him. So I was really grateful.”

He also mentioned his kiss scene with Go Ah Sung, who played his on-screen lover. The kiss was good in a different way.

“The kiss with Mi Jeong (Go’s character) was good because it was awkward. It felt different from scenes I’d seen in other dramas. I thought it was a kiss where Kyung Rok’s feelings moved ahead of the moment. It wasn’t that he was simply waiting for the act of a kiss. It felt like he had been waiting a long time for the moment he could meet Mi Jeong and emotionally connect with her. That’s probably why it felt more awkward. It was a scene that came from genuine emotion.”

Moon Sang Min’s role in Pavane is not his first leading one, but it is the first that is not of his typical romcom genre. Catch it on Netflix to see how talented he is!
