4th Gen Group’s Catastrophic Drop In Album Sales Hit With Mixed Reactions
Album sales are a good indicator of a group’s performance, with a group’s popularity sometimes determined by how many albums they sell. This works both in good and bad ways, with some groups establishing their popularity with a surplus of sales.
On the other hand, if a group suddenly appears to have lost sales, attention will focus on that as a potential sign of issues.
“Struggling” Boy Group Sees 1,470% Surge In First Day Album Sales
Recently, a well-known fourth-generation group’s sales decline became a topic of discussion.
In 2019, girl group EVERGLOW debuted under Yuehua Entertainment as a six-membered group.

Their debut track, “Bon Bon Chocolat,” charted at number five on Billboard‘s “World Digital Chart,” with subsequent releases also debuting on this chart and others. Their first single album sold around 3,800 copies in the first week, a total that steadily increased, peaking with the release of Last Melody, which sold a little over 32,000 copies in that same time period.
Subsequent releases did not quite hit the same level, but did not show drastic drops.

In 2025, it was announced that all members of the group would leave the company, with four resigning to join another agency and continuing on as EVERGLOW. This new line-up recently returned with “Code,” the title track from the album of the same name.
March 3, marked the first day of sales for the album, which recorded 473 sales, well below the last release’s 5,928, and extremely below their highest.

This drop in sales was accounted to several issues, including the lack of promotion surrounding the comeback and the new line-up. However, many also attributed it a loss of interest after the group performed in Moscow in November 2025, and the subsequently announced Russian tour.
