As is customary for every BTS release, the group held a livestream when ARIRANG released and communicated with fans about the album, including the creative process that went into making the record.

During this broadcast, the group discussed how the album reflected the personal touch of all the members, noting that Jin couldn’t contribute much due to his solo promotion schedule. RM said that he could have participated more extensively had his solo tour wrapped up a little earlier. V, however, stated that it wasn’t the lack of time but Jin’s health condition after the tour that stopped him from participating much. Jimin and Jungkook proceeded to praise Jin for holding down the fort with his solo promotions while the members were away for their military service. Jin wrapped up the conversation with a straight face, saying, “I’m glad that we put out great songs.”

This clip has sparked major fury among fans, who felt that in this particular moment, Jin was being blamed for focusing on his solo promotions.

Others were simply confused about why BTS’s group album couldn’t be pushed back a bit more to accommodate Jin’s solo schedule, which was possibly curated way before the comeback plans.

However, many fans defended the BTS members, arguing that the clip was being misinterpreted.

Meanwhile, ARIRANG‘s line distribution has also caused a rift among fans on social media.
