“Mystery Idol” Who Vanished Right After Debut Re-Surfaces To Share A Now-Deleted Story About Another K-Pop Star
As Jewelry member Seo Inyoung gains attention with her new YouTube channel, a previously unknown story highlighting her character has also drawn interest—especially because of the person sharing it.

On April 2, 2026 (KST), former idol Ori—known notoriously for her botched debut performance that led to her complete “disappearance” from the K-Pop scene—took to Threads and mentioned her encounter with Seo Inyoung.

She was the MC during my debut broadcast, and after that show, I got severely scolded by the PD. They asked me if I even understood what kind of mistake I had made.
She was standing next to the PD, and since I knew she had a strong personality, I honestly thought she’d curse me out, too. But she didn’t say anything. In fact, it felt like she was trying to calm the situation down.

Ori wrote, “Looking back now, I’m really grateful to her. If this post reaches her, I hope she knows how thankful I am.”

Ori’s Threads post quickly spread online, shedding light on a different side of Seo Inyoung. The post, however, was soon deleted by Ori, who explained, “It feels like I may have unnecessarily brought someone else into this.”

At the time, the broadcast staff was responsible for the program, so it makes sense that they pointed out my mistakes. And skill really is important, so I have nothing to say about that—even if I had ten mouths. I just wanted my gratitude to reach her.

This comes as Seo Inyoung launches her YouTube channel, marking her first major return to active communication with the public in about 10 years. On the channel, she has openly addressed past controversies and issued apologies, drawing attention for her candid approach. As a result, the channel surpassed 230,000 subscribers in a short period and earned a Silver Play Button, with some videos exceeding 2 million views.
Amid this renewed interest, Ori’s story has further fueled attention.
Meanwhile, Ori debuted in 2009 at the age of 15 on Music Bank, but faced heavy criticism at the time due to unstable pitch during her performance and subsequently halted her activities. She is currently active as an internet broadcaster and YouTuber.
