Actress Lee Min Jung has opened up about a heartbreaking personal family story she had kept buried for years.

On a recent upload to her YouTube channel, Lee Min Jung reflected on why she chose to star in the 2016 drama Come Back Mister, where she starred alongside Rain. While discussing the project, she carefully revealed that her decision to take the role was connected to a painful personal experience.

“I thought it would be fun, but there was also a personal reason. My cousin, whom I loved the most, passed away two years before that and left behind a baby.”

Lee Min Jung explained that the drama’s storyline felt deeply personal because it mirrored her own emotions at the time. Come Back Mister follows the story of people who briefly return after death and remain close to the families they left behind. Lee Min Jung said the drama especially moved her because of the similarities.

“He left this world while leaving behind a child, and you naturally have this feeling of wanting to see them again so badly. In the drama, the male lead suddenly passes away leaving behind a child and returns in a different body to stay around his family. Because of that, it felt even more emotional for me.”

Her candid confession touched many viewers, who praised her for opening up about such a deeply personal chapter of her life.
