Her post has sparked hate towards IU and other celebrities who have also been involved in the political scandal.
IU Embroiled In Massive Political Controversy, Bombarded With Comments
In her post, she described voting as the core of democracy and criticized the reported shortage of ballots during the election process, saying it damaged public trust.
As screenshots of her Instagram story circulated, some netizens began linking the debate to other celebrities, especially IU.
The singer-actress has previously received praise for supporting public demonstrations in past political movements, including donations and food support. Because of that history, many netizens began calling on her and other high-profile stars to speak out or take a clearer stance on the current controversy.
Other stars facing similar backlash include Lee Dong Wook, Girls’ Generation’s Yuri, and Kim Bo Young.
