Actor Cries On Livestream, Story Spirals Out Of Control
Han Dong is a 45-year-old Chinese actor who rose to fame for his role as the Ninth Prince in the historical C-Drama Scarlet Heart. He has more than 20 years of acting experience, having made his film and TV debuts in 2005.

In a recent livestream, Han Dong responded to fans who were curious about why he has been appearing less often in traditional television dramas. Speaking candidly, he acknowledged that the entertainment industry has become increasingly competitive and said that landing roles in long-form productions is more difficult than it used to be. He added that much of his current work involves short-form projects and livestreaming, while referencing the financial pressures and uncertainties that come with the profession.

Shortly afterward, clips from the broadcast began circulating online. Some viewers interpreted his remarks as emotional, and reports claiming that Han Dong was “crying because he had no acting jobs” quickly gained traction.

Han Dong, who was surprised to see himself trending, addressed the reports directly, dismissing the suggestion that he had become emotional on camera. Han Dong argued that the widely shared clips failed to capture the full context of the conversation and emphasized that his comments had been made in a joking manner. He also speculated that viewers may have confused his playful acting with genuine tears since he can’t sing or dance.
