BLACKPINK Sets The Bar High For Girl Groups – Here’s The Reason For Their Success According To Billboard

We really “like that”.

For the week of 7th June, the girls of BLACKPINK entered the Billboard Hot 100 with “How You Like That” at 33th place, breaking all past records for previous K-pop girl groups. According to Billboard’s webzine, BLACKPINK’s success can be attributed to their insane talent and ability to digest any concept or song with their own swagger and style. The girls of BLACKPINK give off their own unique aura that cannot be replicated by any other group.

Billboard’s webzine even touted BLACKPINK as the world’s largest girl group, saying that the records that the girls are breaking, are only possible because they are BLACKPINK. As “How You Like That” is merely a pre-release, the expectations and anticipation for their first full-length album, to be coming out soon, is extremely high.

BLACKPINK has shown growth through each comeback – their previous release, “Kill This Love”, was placed at 41st position on the Hot 100 charts, while 2018’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” charted in at 55th place.

Their record with “How You Like That” on the Billboard Digital Song Sales charts at 2nd place, overtook 2005’s “Don’t Cha” by The Pussycat Dolls, making their mark as an international girl group.

The Pussycat Dolls even congratulated BLACKPINK on this achievement through social media.

BLACKPINK has even taken over China, with their song gaining over 2,000,000 downloads on QQ Music, a first for any foreign girl group. It goes without saying that they practically broke the internet when their music video dropped on YouTube – it now sits at over 2.4 billion views and counting.

BLACKPINK is undoubtedly one of the top girl groups not only in Korea, but in the world. We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for these talented and beautiful girls!
