Korean Transgender Shocks With $100,000 USD Spent On Plastic Surgery
A 39-year-old transgender guest who has spent approximately ₩140 million KRW (about $95,700 USD) solely on plastic surgery recently appeared on the show Ask Me Anything, confessing that despite their extensive work, they still want even more procedures.
The guest explains they began with eyelid and nose surgery in their early 20s, then continued with facial fat grafting, breast revision surgery, philtrum reduction, lip corner lift, lifting procedures, and multiple additional rhinoplasties — totaling around 20 surgeries. This excludes vocal surgery in Thailand that they got during transition.

They had been inspired by Harisu, one of South Korea’s most famous transgenders. Harisu was active as a singer and celebrity in the 2000s. The guest also explains that they used money earned from beauty-industry part-time jobs to consistently undergo hormone treatment.
It seems that there is more to the story, for they admitted that the extensive correction stemmed from heartbreak. One man they dated for three years cut off contact after the guest revealed they were transgender, only to later announce he was getting married. In another relationship, the guest hid their identity for five years. When feelings deepened, they finally confessed — but the partner refused to believe it and the relationship ultimately ended.

The guest shares that even plastic surgeons tell them, “Don’t do it,” or “If you want to die, go ahead and get more,” to which they respond, “I don’t care if I die — just do it.”
