The romantic relationship of Kimura Kokomi, the eldest daughter of singer-actor Kimura Takuya and Kudo Shizuka, has been made public. Japanese outlet Shukan Bunshun reported that Kokomi is dating professional volleyball player Ogawa Tomohiro. The two were spotted shopping together and sharing a sweet moment when Ogawa gave Kokomi a light kiss on the cheek before she returned to Tokyo.

A source close to the couple revealed that Kokomi, who lives in Tokyo, and Ogawa, based in Osaka, have been in a long-distance relationship for two years. Interestingly, Kokomi is known to be a fan of the volleyball anime Haikyuu!!, and last year she was even seen wearing a headband supporting the Japanese men’s national volleyball team — the same team Ogawa belongs to.

A few years ago, Kokomi and her younger sister Kōki held a joint live stream where they discussed their ideal partners, saying that they had “promised to find someone more handsome than their father.”

Following news of the relationship, a reporter asked Ogawa, “Do you think you’re more handsome than Kimura Takuya in her heart?” He couldn’t hold back his laughter and replied in good humor.

“I’m not sure about that, but our relationship is very good.”

Kokomi is currently active as a flutist and model, while Ogawa is a talented athlete who has won silver and bronze medals in the national VNL league for two consecutive years. During his time at Meiji University, he helped the team reach the podium at the All-Japan University Volleyball League for the first time in four years.
