KOMCA (Korea Music Copyright Association) is a non-profit organization that keeps records of rights and licenses related to musical works. This includes copyrights, writing credits, broadcasting and public performance rights, and reproduction rights.

Whenever a K-Pop idol is credited for participating in a song’s writing process, the acknowledgment is officially made through KOMCA.

Contrary to popular belief, a lot of K-Pop idols do participate in creating their own songs, while some also work on songs that are meant for other artists. And when it comes to female K-Pop idols, looks like there is no lack of talented songwriters in the industry!

Here are the top 6 female idols who currently have the highest writing credits on KOMCA (as of July 20,2022)

1. Moonbyul (MAMAMOO)

Moonbyul has always been acknowledged by fans and the industry alike for her songwriting skills. While in 2021, she had 71 songwriting credits to her name, the number has gone up substantially this year to 107!

2. Miryo (Brown Eyed Girls)

Miryo debuted in 2006 as the main vocalist and rapper of the group Brown Eyed Girls, and over the course of 16 years of her career, she has participated in 97 songs as a writer!

3. Baek Yerin
