Here Are 5 Random Facts You Didn’t Know About BTS’s “Golden Maknae” Jungkook

He’s too perfect. This list proves that.

The thing is, if you’re an ARMY, there is no such thing as “getting too much information” on any member. Every bit of knowledge is precious. The more you know, the closer you feel — Right? That is exactly why we have put together this list of 5 random facts about BTS‘s Golden Maknae Jungkook. Besides, even if you already knew, it is fun to review what makes Jungkook as golden as he is!

1. His Name

Jungkook’s full legal name, as romanized in his passport, is actually Jeon Jeongguk. In fact, this “official” version of the romanization is used for formal occasions, like for example when BTS attended the UN Secretary-General’s Youth 2030 Strategy. Back in 2015, Jungkook filled out his own profile and wrote his name as Jun Jungkook — but ARMYs know him by a combination of these two romanizations, which is Jeon Jungkook. His grandfather gave him the name. The “Jeong” syllable in his name means a person, while the “guk” syllable means a nation. His grandfather hoped for Jungkook to become “the person to represent his nation” — which he did. He surely did.

2. His License

Jungkook got his driver’s license as soon as he turned 20 years old, Korean legal age for driving. By the 3rd season of Bon Voyage in Malta, he showed off his driving skills with an international license up his sleeve too. Then, in the 4th season of Bon Voyage in New Zealand, he sped himself straight into ARMY hearts with top-notch driving skills.

3. His Favorites

When Jungkook was in school, he hated all the subjects except physical education, art, and music. He especially had trouble with Earth science — which he actually gave up early on. On the other hand, during P.E, Jungkook excelled at dodgeball.

4. His Personality

In a previous “BTS Skool Luv Affair Keyword Talk” interview, Jungkook claimed that if all 7 BTS members were to fall in love with the same girl, that he would try to win her over the hyungs. Like so, Jungkook has a fiercely competitive spirit and it drives him to be the best and only the best version of himself at all times.

5. His Record

On October 24, 2018, BTS became the first K-Pop idol group to receive an Order of Cultural Merit at the Korean Popular Culture & Arts Awards. In 2018, Jungkook was 21 years old Korean age — and thus became the youngest artist to have been awarded the title!
