All The “Firsts” That Took Place At The “2025 MAMAs”

On November 28, KST, the first night of Mnet‘s iconic year-end award show, MAMA Awards, took place in Hong Kong.

Though it was just the first night, the event witnessed some historical moments in K-Pop. Here are the artists who achieved some key”firsts” on this night:

1. BLACKPINK’s Rosé

This year, Rosé made history by winning the “Song of the Year” award, becoming the first and only K-pop female soloist to win in this category. She is also the first soloist in a decade to win Song of the Year at MAMAs since BIGBANG‘s Taeyang (2014).

2. Hearts2Hearts’s Carmen

Hearts2Hearts achieved a huge career milestone by winning the “Best New Artist” award this year. However, for one of their members, Carmen, the night was an even bigger achievement as she became the only Indonesian K-Pop idol to perform at MAMAs and also to win Best New Artist.

3. TWICE

TWICE, who have already had a remarkable run this year, made history at MAMAs by winning the Fan’s Choice Award, thereby becoming the first female act to win in the category seven times!

4. ENHYPEN

ENHYPEN saw an emotional night at the 2025 MAMAs as the group secured the “Visa Fans’ Choice Of The Year” award, one of the Daesangs given out on this night. With this win, they became the first fourth-generation K-Pop boy group to win a Daesang at MAMAs!
