4th-Gen Idols Let Out Their Most Toxic Dieting Secrets
It is no secret that the K-Pop industry still upholds very extreme standards when it comes to an “ideal body,” and to achieve that, many young hopefuls are driven to toxic diet regimens. While conversations around this problematic aspect of the industry have slowly made it into the mainstream, it is still rare for idols to openly discuss their personal struggles in this regard. So, when two female idols recently opened up about their experiences with toxic diets, it left many viewers stunned.
The idols in question, Sua and Tsuki from Billlie, shared their stories in the latest episode of the popular YouTube show Amuteun Tteodeulleo Watneunde (literal translation: Anyway, I Came To Chat).

Since the episode’s theme was weight management and diet, everyone started sharing their highest weight. Gabi confessed she was 78-79kg while filming the Street Woman Fighter finale. Jung Jae Hyung shared that his highest weight was 97 kg.

Talking about her highest weight, Tsuki revealed it was when her “Ginga Minga” fancams started going viral. The idol mentioned that since then, she has lost 10 kg.

Sua, on the other hand, revealed that her heaviest weight to date has been 55kg. She explained that her mother had taught her that her ideal weight would be her height in centimeters minus 120.

The conversation then shifted to idol dieting methods. Tsuki recalled her trainee days and shocked everyone by revealing that she used to follow a dieting regimen where she just ate three Chupa-Chup candies a day, one for each meal. She started following it after seeing an older trainee do it and ended up losing 4-5kg.

Sua then revealed her dieting horror story, saying, “One of the worst methods I tried was eating nothing but ice for a week.” The idol continued, “It was okay for about 3 days. But from the fourth day, I couldn’t feel myself moving when I walked,” laying bare the reality of this “diet.”

Sua admitted that, despite already being skinny at that time, she wanted to be the “skinniest” among the trainees after her company announced a body assessment. She added that it was possible for her to pull off the diet because she was really young back then. “I really hope that no one ever tries this,” the idol warned, having learned from her mistake.
