Kang Ha Neul is known for his upright and virtuous image, constantly praised by other actors for his kindness and consideration. Regarding the various anecdotes other actors share about his kindness, Kang Ha Neul humbly replied that he doesn’t necessarily think he’s kind but just does his job like everybody else.

I’m not burdened by it, and I’m thankful, but I always want to clarify: I don’t think I’m a kind person. The way I look at it, all the reporters made time today to come here, and I took the time to be here, too. It’s the same with shooting a movie. Everyone sets aside their time to meet, so I hope that time can be a time of laughter for everyone.

He continued that he curses when he’s with friends and isn’t “as nice as you would think.”

People tend to describe me as kind in a comfortable manner, but I want to become a fun person. I always think about how I could make everyone laugh…  I’m not as nice as people think I am. When I meet my friends, I curse when I hang out with them. (Laughs)

Occasionally, there have been conversations about Kang Ha Neul being different from sensitive actors and not as kind on set. In response, Kang Ha Neul said that this is a matter of working styles and that people should respect people’s various working styles.

There are people with perfectionist tendencies. It’s their work style, and we should respect and acknowledge them… Simply put, I’m not that style. I’m simply not irritable, but it seems like people perceive that as kindness.

When the reporter asked the humble actor what makes him irritable, he replied that it’s when his house gets dirty and when he’s trying to go home.

It’s when my house gets dirty and when I’m going home from work. Resting at home is the most important. I like staying still at home, and that’s when I feel like I gain strength for the day.

Kang Ha Neul’s upcoming movie 30 Days is a comedy that tells the story of Jeong Yeol (played by Kang Ha Neul) and Na Ra (played by Jung So Min), who, after enduring each other’s clumsiness and wit, fall into transient amnesia just before they become a perfect couple. It is set to be released on October 3.
