In the K-Drama, Kim Seon Ho plays Joo Ho Jin, starring opposite actress Go Yoon Jung, who plays Cha Mu Hee. Following the series’ release, viewers have since playfully dubbed the characters as “secure-attachment style boyfriend with his anxious-attachment style girlfriend.”

That said, in response to a question about his dating style vs. his character’s, Kim Seon Ho called himself a “scaredy-cat” who needs a lot of time in relationships.

I actually thought about this. When I was younger, if someone liked me, I’d think, ‘Does that mean we should date?’ But now, I feel like I need a lot more time. If our interests don’t align, it’s hard to even start a relationship, so it takes me a long time to develop romantic feelings. I think it changes as you get older.

Conversation is important. There are people you can talk to easily and naturally without even trying, and I like that kind of atmosphere—whether it’s with someone of the opposite sex or the same sex. To be honest, I’m not very brave when it comes to relationships. I’m kind of a scaredy-cat, so I need a lot of time.

Given how the actor has been struggling to leave behind his scandal involving his ex-girlfriend and her abortion, Kim Seon Ho’s comment about his love life was, inevitably, not received well.

  • “No worries, dude. I was never curious about your dating style, but I already know all about it.”
  • “It’s hard for me to watch anything starring him because I do still remember the details of his scandal. But if I’m being honest, I think the interviewer shouldn’t have asked such a question. What was Kim Seon Ho supposed to do? Pass on answering the question?”
  • “?????”
  • “We already know all about it, though.”
  • “Huh?”
  • “…”
  • “His dating style is unprotected sex and abandonment.”
  • “So no more making seaweed soup for your pregnant girlfriends?”
  • “Why is this guy literally everywhere? Is he working for minimum wage?”

  • “Men have it so easy. Am I wrong?”
  • “I think he said that the abortion was agreed upon, and I mean, I have nothing against abortions. But we all saw the KakaoTalk logs between him and his ex, no? It’s hard for me to separate him from his past dating scandal.”
  • “LMAO.”
  • “Hats off to him because I don’t think I would’ve been able to answer a question like this in an interview.”
  • “Pfft.”
  • “This makes me sick to my stomach.”
  • “Haha.”
  • “To think that he gets to talk about his dating style and shoot rom-coms after all that had happened… Korea’s amazing.”
  • “Yikes.”
  • “Who keeps letting him act?”

This is not the first time Kim Seon Ho has gotten “hate” for continuing his acting career post-scandal.
