In the unexpected video, the members are showing off their acting prowess with a dark thriller concept.

The members’ acting skills were praised by international fans on social media. Particularly, Karina and Winter received love for their unique performances.

However, Korean netizens were more critical of the members’ acting skills. Some stated that in comparison to co-star actor Koo Kyo Hwan, the obvious skill difference made the members’ acting feel “cringey” by comparison.

Even if we excuse Koo Kyo Hwan for acting really well, every time the members deliver their lines, I honestly cringe so much. Their faces look nice, though, so it’s refreshing.

In response, some netizens agreed, while others found their skills fine for idols doing their best to act. Many also praised Giselle and NingNing‘s Japanese and Chinese line delivery.

  • “Huh, really? I thought it was awesome.”
  • “I really liked it… Giselle’s Japanese was super good.”
  • “Considering the overall vibe of a 2X9 project, I thought it was fine.”
  • “I didn’t cringe at all lol. I knew Karina’s acting had gotten a lot of criticism, so I was prepared, but considering it’s just a music video, her acting wasn’t bad lol. Above all, Giselle’s Japanese and Ningning’s Chinese added a nice unique touch.”
  • “I actually thought Karina acted better than expected. I get why she said she wanted to act.”
  • “The concept is good, but as soon as the members speak their first lines, the difference in vocal delivery with Koo Kyo Hwan is obvious. Makes you realize even actors with years of experience go to learn from masters for a reason.”
