aespa’s Karina Gets Targeted With Sexualized Deepfake Fancam
The widespread use of AI-generated deepfake technology has painted targets on the backs of female K-pop idols. aespa member Karina is the latest victim.

Recently, a user on X (formerly Twitter) who exclusively posts sexualized images and videos of idols and other public figures posted an old clip of Karina performing at the K-Link Festival in 2024. However, instead of her original outfit, the video had been altered to show her in a much more revealing dress with a low neckline.

The post, which has now garnered over 2.3 million views, has triggered massive backlash from the idol’s fans. Many hurriedly posted the original clip to fact-check the AI-generated post, while others put the OP (original poster) on blast for sexually harassing Karina.
