aespa Members Catch “Illuminati” Accusations
Two aespa members, NingNing and Giselle have been caught up in rumors about being members of the fabled secret society called the “Illuminati.”

For those unaware, Illuminati refers to a secret society believed to be the controlling force behind every major aspect of the modern world, including politics, finance, and even entertainment. The name is used to refer to several groups, both real and fictitious, and the theory associated with the name is largely considered a conspiracy theory.
Recently, a post on Nate Pann went viral discussing how Giselle and NingNing might be part of this notorious secret society. The OP (original poster) pointed out that both members had posted photos featuring a common motif on their social media repeatedly: the one-eyed motif. It has been featured in multiple of their Instagram posts, either on random objects…

…or on their bodies…

…or in mindless doodles.

The one-eyed motif is one of the most widely known symbols of the Illuminati. Hence, it led the OP to believe that the two members might be a part of that group.

Netizens, however, responded mostly with ridicule, though there were a few who sounded alarmed.

- “Yep, they’re totally Illuminati, unnie, be careful. Ningning and Giselle might even be watching your family. From now on, when you wake up and before you go to sleep, make sure to offer a little prayer to Ningning and Giselle and go about your day. If you don’t, unnie, something really bad might happen.”
- “Eye designs are originally a common tattoo design. What are you even talking about?”
- “That does look f*cking scary.”
- “Wow, aespa really did get big since posts like this are popping up. It just reminds me again that aespa really made it.”
- “Yeah, they’re totally Illuminati, so please go around in real life telling people that Ningning and Giselle are Illuminati. Make sure you do it, okay?”
